Rodney speaks at NOLB

NOLB IS MORE THAN A SLOGAN… IT’S A PROMISE!

A room filled with the best in our community--Last Saturday night, the No One Left Behind event was held to recognize outstanding first responders in our community. First responders and community members gathered to honor the heroic actions of those men and women who chose to dedicate their lives to protect all of us. 

Rodney Gaskins, our Executive Director, spoke about servant leadership and how the Fairbanks Rescue Mission is eternally grateful for the work of the first responders, who help us on a daily basis. The following is from Rodney's speech to the community. 

"The name of this event is significant. No One Left Behind has meaning. It’s a phrase I heard my entire military career. 
It means:
•    We leave no one on the battle field.
•    We are NOT going to leave you behind.
•    We are not going to leave you where you’re at. 
•    We are in this together. 
•    We are not going to leave you when you’re down.

NO ONE LEFT BEHIND IS MORE THAN A SLOGAN…          IT’S A PROMISE! 

It’s a promise that our first responders make to us and our community… EVERY DAY, EVERY SHIFT, EVERY TIME THEY SUIT UP."
