What Can You Do With Just $15.50?
You can take a friend to a matinee, buy three mochas, or provide food,
shelter and safety for one person for one day at the Fairbanks Rescue Mission.
We are resourceful, so for only $15.50 we can care for one person for a
full day. This includes: Three meals, a warm bed, a shower, fresh clothing,
and safety.
Why do we need people like you to donate? To give hope... hope that comes
when people don't have to worry about where the next meal will come from
and where they will sleep at night. At the Fairbanks Rescue Mission we
take care of the basics so that people can focus on recovery, family, faith
and health--things that give hope to our lives.
The Mission operates the only overnight men's
emergency shelter and women's emergency shelter in the interior of
Alaska, and, therefore, has a key role to play in the life of our
community.
Lives are changed at the Fairbanks Rescue Mission everyday. These are men
and women just like you and me, with families and children like ours. Somewhere,
somehow, hard times came and they needed a place to go for a helping hand.
The Mission tries to meet both spiritual and physical needs in helping
individuals towards restoration to a correct relationship with God and
a productive relationship within our society. Long term transformation
is the Mission's goal.
